Working Video Of Shields & Right Angled CHute

The video below shows an Engel 100 ton machine running a 32 cavity mold on a 4.75 second cycle. It is fitted with a pair of MS-40 Mould Shields and an RMC-45 Mould Chute, feeding to a conveyor.

This machine makes over 18,000 parts every 24 hours. Prior to installing the mould shields and chute, they were losing 480 parts per day or 2.6% of production. Since installing the IPS products, this loss has been reduced to 10 parts per day or 0.055% of production. They have 4 machines running the same product all operating round the clock.

These 4 machines operate 365 days a year. Before IPS products were installed the loss in cash terms was over £100,000 per year. After the shields and chute were installed losses dropped to £18,000. This represents an annual saving of around £82,000 for an outlay of approximately £1400!
